Description
Do you want to learn how to make a Traditional Aboriginal Hand Drum by an Indigenous facilitator?
Join us as Walter Lindstone teaches us how to make a drum from scratch. The process takes 3 hours and includes full step by step instruction.
Workshop includes:
- 12-inch precut deer raw hide
- 25 feet sinew
- 12 inch pre-built custom wooden frame
We also take the time to put together a simple drum stick, a small piece of leather and sheep’s wool stuffing.
Traditional Anishinaabe Teachings are provided along with proper care. At a later date, after the drum is dry, and if one chooses, we can set another date to do a “Birthing Ceremony” along with making a spirit plate for your drum. This provides a spiritual element to the sacredness of the drum, there are those that are just instruments and tools or those that can become alive and provide healing for you in your spiritual journey.
